Creating Consciousness Through Touch
The Metamorphosis Center serves as a resource to educate people about Metamorphosis, the work of Robert St. John. Originally called A Center for Metamorphosis, we were established in 1992.
We offer introductory and practitioner classes as well as Metamorphosis with horses.
We offer classes in many states and countries. Please visit our calendar to find the class nearest you. We are happy to travel to you, if you would like to coordinate a class in your area.
Cindy's passion in life is to provide support in helping others connect to the magic and wonder of working with intention. Teaching Metamorphosis is one of her greatest joys!
Cindy first met Robert St. John in 1989. She created a newsletter for Robert to keep the U.S. abreast of his developing work and she sponsored his final lecture tour in 1996. Since St. John's passing she has sponsored several lectures with international speakers. She is the author of "Metamorphosis, Creating Consciousness Through Touch."
Cindy has been teaching Metamorphosis since 1990 and has taught in the USA and Canada. Her background includes a B.A. in Psychology, training as a doula, in hypnotherapy, massage, reiki and various other alternative modalities.
Cindy is available to lecture. She has lectured on Metamorphosis at the APPPAH (Association for Pre & Perinatal Psychology & Health) Congress 12/97, Metamorphosis Conference 3/98, RAC (Reflexology Association of California) Conference 10/99, APPPAH Congress 12/99 and the RAA (Reflexology Association of America) Conference 5/00.
My personal story: People often ask me to tell them my personal story of how and why I got involved with Metamorphosis. In 1989 I moved to Perth, Australia, as I was engaged to an Australian citizen. At that time I suffered from extreme anxiety and a very compulsive alcohol/drug/cigarette pattern. I had a desire to change but was ingrained in this pattern for 14+ years.
A friend mentioned that her sister stayed out of the mental hospital with a healing art called Metamorphosis. Intuitively I felt drawn to the work. I found a practitioner and started to receive treatments. Keep in mind that I never did ask about the work, and I knew nothing about it. Thus, I did not have any particular expectations. I just knew that I needed it. The treatments were simple and subtle and I could not really explain what held my interest.
After several months of receiving weekly treatments I stopped drinking, doing drugs and smoking. There was no struggle or effort, in fact, I was not expecting Metamorphosis to assist with this problem.
I have not had the desire for drugs or cigarattes in 19 years. In the last few years I have chosen to enjoy an ocassional social drink without problems. This is what happens when an addictive pattern shifts, it does not have to be a life-long struggle.
I had a BA in psychology and was planning to pursue my masters in counseling. I found Metamorphosis much more interesting. I was very intrigued with this non-verbal approach and decided to learn the work. I was fortunate that Robert St. John was living in Perth at the same time that I was.
My passion for Metamorphosis comes from the fact that it has changed my life tremendously. The understanding of afference and efference gives a perspective that makes sense, and yet, there is no need to interpret or analyze. I find St. John's thinking to be a grounded and simple approach to living a better life.
I am excited to share Metamorphosis with others. It is my belief that as more people take responsiblity for their negative patterns the world will collectively begin to experience peace and harmony. Metamorphosis is simple and profound enough to be able to assist with this grand idea!
Dean is an Australian born Metamorphosis practitioner and certified Reflexologist. Dean presently works in the construction industry and gives Metamorphosis and Reflexology treatments upon request. His warmth, compassion and understanding of Metamorphosis comes through in his work.
My personal story: My wife, Cindy, was receiving treatments and encouraged me to try them. We saw a Metamorphosis booth at a local health fair. The practitioner was an older gentleman who was an ex-plumber. He was someone I could relate to, so I agreed to experience a sample treatment. I had an instant, unexplainable, reaction to this experience.
Cindy talked me into taking the class with her. Shortly after this my father died. The grief and emotion were overwhelming. Cindy worked on my feet and I instantly fell asleep. During the treatment she tells me that my feet kept leaping off her lap and she saw a pulsing movement travel up my legs through the torso and up to my lips. After the treatment I was so exhausted I felt unable to move. I had two more treatments, both a similar experience. Afterwards I was able to handle the emotion of the passing of my father. Although we have never seen such a dramatic treatment since, it was enough to show us both that Metamorphosis, while usually subtle, does work at a very deep level.
I share in the passion for Metamorphosis as it has helped me in all aspects of my life. We both attribute the success of our twenty year marriage to the practice of Metamorphosis in our home as well as the understanding of the principles of afference and efference and the relationship pattern.
Metamorphosis is a philosophy: it is a way of understanding the nature, the structure and the function of life in all things on this planet; but, particularly, in the human. Our origin, the reason for this origin and the way in which the original pattern changed are all points of interest and this information gives us a knowledge of what is causing the events of the present time.
